Golf Buddy Program
Variety – The Children’s Charity and the Philadelphia Section of the PGA of America collaborated to create the “Buddy Program” to enhance the lives of children with developmental and physical disabilities through the game of golf. Its goal is to create a buddy system between a PGA professional and a child with disabilities. Its main objective is to establish a meaningful friendship between both parties as the child is learning the fundamentals of golf while elevating the child’s self-esteem.
The Golf Buddy Program requires the parent(s) to show a strong commitment to the child’s learning process. Once paired with a PGA Professional, it is the responsibility of the parent to arrange the child’s golf lessons unless the professional expresses that he/she would rather take on this responsibility. The Buddy Program will provide the required golfing equipment.
All children and professionals enrolled in the program shall be registered and noted for future mailings and group activities through the offices of the Philadelphia Section of the PGA and Variety – The Children’s Charity.
