Volunteers hit the streets for Variety’s Old Newsboys’ Day Event
On Friday September 24th, 2010 volunteers work the streets in Philadelphia, Norristown, PA and Wilmington, DE to raise money for Variety- The Children’s Charity.
Volunteers hawked Variety’s "The Happiness Edition" newspaper for $1 during the charity’s 54th Annual Old Newsboys’ Day. The event began with a kick-off at Philadelphia’s City Hall and concluded with an after-party at The Public House.
More than $6500 was raised from the one day newspaper sales and will benefit Variety’s programs for children with disabilities including its after-school programs and its nationally-acclaimed camp and development center in Worcester, PA.
