TEAM VARIETY Runs for a Cause in the 15th Annual Philadelphia Marathon.
Over 15,000 individuals dashed down the Parkway racing towards the Philadelphia Zoo, Manayunk and ultimately the Art Museum competing in the 15th Annual Philadelphia Marathon on Sunday, November 23rd. For the second consecutive year, participants had the opportunity to run on behalf of a charity for this historic race.
Variety - The Children’s Charity, as one of the approved non-profits affiliated with the marathon, was given reserved spots and opportunities to find runners willing to run on their behalf in the 8K, ½ Marathon or 26.2 mile marathon. TEAM VARIETY was comprised of new runners, such as John and Sandra Keyser who competed in their first marathon, and veteran runners such as JoAnn McDevitt, who competed in her 63rd marathon - and 8th Philadelphia Marathon!
Thirty runners joined TEAM VARIETY to try and make a difference or because they needed a way into the race, which sold out for the second time in the event’s history.
